If you are after childrens bikes for a child older than 11 you need wheel sizes of 26 (26 inches) and the size of the bike is then stermined by the size of the frame.

If the bike is for a child, they generally fall into age categories based on the average size of a child of a specific age. There is no rule that says that you must buy a bike of a particular size for a child of a specific age.However, it is NOT recommended that you buy a bike for your child to grow into. This is not only very dangerous but also by the time they are tall enough for the bike they may probably want a new one. As children grow at different rates it is always better to buy childrens bikes that fit their current height range.

If your child is aged 11+ then they may require an adult bike. Adult bikes have bigger frames rather than wheels sizes. When this is the case you are best choosing a bike of a certain frame size to match the height of your child rather than the age they are. See below for details.
